Fatalities during morning training on back-to-back days have resulted in Oaklawn Park scratching trainer Tim Martin's entries for this final weekend of racing, the track posted on social media Thursday.

On Wednesday, the Martin-trained, stakes-winning Tyler's Tribe was euthanized after working a half mile at the Hot Springs, Ark. track. Tyler's Tribe achieved significant notoriety when he entered the Breeders' Cup at Keeneland in 2022 undefeated in five starts, but the colt bled (suffered from an instance of exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage) in that race and finished off the board. The 4-year-old's most recent race came on March 10, in which he finished sixth in a six-horse field; the Equibase chart indicates Tyler's Tribe bled again. The March 10 race was his first start in nearly 11 months, having also bled in his penultimate race on April 29, 2023.

On Thursday, a 3-year-old son of Into Mischief named Collins was euthanized after working five furlongs at Oaklawn.

Martin had entered eight horses over the next three days at Oaklawn Park.

"The health and welfare of our equine and human athletes are taken very seriously at Oaklawn," the track's statement reads. "While management investigates the unfortunate fatalities of Tyler’s Tribe and Collins, Trainer Tim Martin’s entries during the last weekend of racing have been scratched by the Stewards. In the interest of all parties, Oaklawn must take these actions to properly investigate this matter."
